Professional Mental Health Counseling for adults throughout Michigan
About the Practice
When depression, anxiety, or strained relationships weigh us down, even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. These struggles often leave us feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, making it hard to follow through on plans, even those we’ve rehearsed a hundred times. Sometimes, our actions may feel out of character, or we might feel paralyzed, as if these challenges are calling the shots.
Feeling down often leads to isolation, which makes relationships harder and leaves us feeling even more alone. Disrupting this feedback loop can be very difficult, especially when it has been running for months or years. The more isolated we feel, the harder it becomes to find the motivation to reach out or connect, leaving us caught between the desire for connection and the weight of disconnection.
Whatever you’re facing, I’d like to help you find a way forward. With over 15 years of experience in mental health, I’ve learned that kindness, understanding, and even laughter are as powerful as any technique. Together, we can begin to make sense of things and foster new growth.
Sessions are currently online and available to anyone living in Michigan.

Anxiety can fuel worries about relationships and self-worth, making it hard to feel present or connected to others.

As someone with ADHD, I know it complicates relationships and work, leaving you feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed, especially when paired with anxiety or depression.

My Style
Though therapy can sometimes feel heavy, it doesn't have to be all the time. It should also be uplifting, engaging, and even fun—something to look forward to. Clients often describe me as calm, encouraging, nonjudgmental, and funny. I’m a licensed counselor with training in trauma, CBT, addiction, crisis intervention, and family dynamics, especially how mental health and relationships intersect. Having lived with mental illness, I understand both sides of the therapeutic process. Together, we'll find the right path forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Off the Clock
A lifelong Michigander, I live with my wife and 3 girls. In my free time I can usually be found playing guitar or piano, reading, tinkering in my shop, spending time in nature, cracking jokes or snuggling with my dog.
Fees, Insurance etc.
Aetna and Optum insurance are accepted.
Sessions are $150. I accept all major credit cards, as well as FSA and HSA cards, with secure storage for easy payments. Fee flexibility is available for those in need. While I am not an in-network provider, I can provide a monthly billing statement for insurance reimbursement.
For teens (15+), therapy is most effective when they are voluntarily engaged in the process. Parent involvement will be requested initially and as needed.
